Our Mission
At Own My Story, we're on a mission to improve access to life story work for children in care. We're developing a platform for children and social workers to create their perfect life story books. By using safe and secure AI tools, direct work and graphic design, we want to empower all care-experienced children and young people to tell their stories.

Direct work
Create the book
We put together a beautifully designed book representing the child's identity, journey and everything that's incredible about them!
We send the child's social worker direct work plans to share the child's design preferences, all about me section and explore significant parts of the story
Collaborative Design
We want to include children in the design of their book. Choosing themes, colours and fonts to promote inclusion and ownership.
Structured direct work
We want to create an app which gives children and social workers the tools to navigate the life story process. Through direct work, we can support children to process the past, tell their story and recognise how they feel.
Trauma-Informed Narrative
We write children's stories based on what they tell us whilst also providing the information within their social work records. We ensure sensitive parts of the story are told with compassion and care.
